Intention: Creativity
If you are looking for a gift that is both meaningful and personal, a custom vinyl record is a fantastic option. Recently, I created a custom vinyl record for my fiancé, Ryan, who has a record player and a deep love for music. I thought it would be an amazing way to give him a one-of-a-kind gift that combined our favorite songs, and I’m thrilled to say that he absolutely loved it! We listen to it all the time. Here’s how I created this unforgettable gift, and how you can do it too:
Step 1: Find the Right Vendor
I started by searching for a vendor who could press a custom vinyl. After browsing through several options, I found an amazing seller on Etsy who offered just what I was looking for. The vendor allowed me to choose up to 40 minutes of music, which gave me the perfect amount of time to curate a special playlist of songs that are meaningful to us. Here is the Etys Seller – VinyleyCustomRecords
Step 2: Curate Your Playlist
Choosing the songs is the fun part! I spent some time thinking about the tracks that meant the most to us—songs we’ve enjoyed together, shared memories, or tracks that hold sentimental value. I created a Shopify playlist to organize everything and ensure it was just the right mix of tunes. A few romantic ballads, some upbeat dance tracks, and a couple of nostalgic hits all made the cut.
Step 3: Design the Album Cover
Once I had the playlist ready, I moved on to designing the album cover. I wanted to make the cover just as personal as the music itself, so I used Canva to create a custom design. Canva has great pre-made templates that I was able to easily modify to suit the vibe I wanted.
Step 4: Submit and Order the Vinyl
With the playlist and album cover ready, I submitted everything to the Etsy vendor. After reviewing the proof to make sure everything looked perfect, I placed the order. A few weeks later, the vinyl arrived, and it was everything I hoped for!
