This year, It’s Bigger Than Us brought our 6th Annual Back 2 School Festival to the heart of Venice Beach, and the energy was unreal. The ocean breeze, music, and laughter set the perfect backdrop for a day of connection and community.

We handed out hundreds of backpacks donated by @supremenewyork, @alohacollection, and @baby2baby, making sure students started the year strong. Partnering with @paliskates—whose shop was lost in the Palisades fire—we hosted a skate competition with signed boards from @tonyhawk and @mikemcgill, who even came out in person. Huge thank you to @samjonespictures for organizing it all.

Families enjoyed fresh burgers from @marathonburger, vegan ice cream, and meals from @palomavenice, while youth from @whitehallacademy filled the day with inspiring performances. Our Fire Relief Zone offered families impacted by the fires high-end apparel from @lululemon, @supremenewyork, and @pacsun, and volunteers joined in for a beach cleanup to give back to the coastline we all love.

I’m so proud of @tyrone_d_nance, @molly_m_morrow, and the entire IBTU team. It’s powerful to see so many people and partners come together to create spaces where families feel supported, seen, and celebrated.
