Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy

Luna Luna, the world’s first art amusement park, has made a spectacular return to Los Angeles. Originally created in 1987 by André Heller in Hamburg, Germany, this unique fairground features rides and installations designed by renowned artists such as Keith Haring, Salvador Dalí, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. After spending decades in storage, the exhibit has been revived thanks to efforts led by creative director Michael Goldberg and a significant investment from Drake! Now housed in a 60,000-square-foot warehouse, Luna Luna offers visitors an immersive experience that blends art and amusement.

My fiancé Ryan and I recently visited the exhibit and were deeply inspired. Among the highlights were Basquiat’s Ferris wheel and a historical section that chronicled significant events from 1912 to the present day.

Update: The exhibit has now concluded its run in Los Angeles and will soon announce its next destination so stay tuned!
