Together We Rebuild Event: $1.75M in Fire Relief and a Day of Community Healing
Together We Rebuild was a powerful community activation that It’s Bigger Than Us co-created in partnership with the Sola Foundation and One Church. As part of our ongoing fire relief initiatives, this event was all about showing up with love, resources, and hope for families impacted by the LA fires. Held at The Bee Hive — a beautiful Black-owned venue in Los Angeles — the event welcomed over 2,500 people for a day of healing, connection, and collective care.
Families had access to essential services including housing and financial assistance, healthcare, furniture, massages, groceries, books, personal care items, and clothing. It was a day built to remind people they are not alone — that even in the aftermath of disaster, community is here, and help is real.
In total, $1.75 million worth of resources were distributed, thanks to the generosity of 50 incredible partners and sponsors who came together with one mission: to serve.
One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was the It’s Bigger Than Us pop-up shopping boutique, beautifully designed by Molly (who absolutely crushed it!). Families could shop for essentials with dignity — from skincare and haircare to baby items, socks, and clothing for both men and women. It was a space filled with intention, care, and compassion, made possible by brands who truly showed up for the community.
As I moved through the event, I had the chance to connect with so many amazing organizations doing meaningful work. I toured Sola Impact’s Model Z home — an innovative housing solution for those displaced by the fires — and learned about Mending Kids, a nonprofit providing life-saving surgeries to children in need. These moments reminded me just how much good is happening when people come together with purpose.
And the kids? Pure joy. The kids’ zone was alive with energy — toy giveaways, carnival games, bounce houses, arts and crafts, sports, basketball with HoopBus, video games, and even a petting zoo (where I met a snake named Beetlejuice!).
World Central Kitchen made sure of that with food trucks serving up delicious meals and ice cream throughout the day.
To the 300 volunteers, every partner and sponsor, and everyone who showed up with full hearts — thank you. Your love and commitment made this day not just possible, but magical.
This is what rebuilding looks like. Community-centered, deeply loving, and rooted in action.
