Modern life is often a whirlwind of responsibilities in today’s fast-paced world—juggling work, social media, emails, texts, relationships, family – the list goes on and on. It is easy to get caught up in the constant movement, leaving little time for yourself. That is where self-care comes in. Self-care is the practice of intentionally taking actions to nurture your physical, mental, and emotional health. It is about prioritizing your well-being to prevent burnout and maintain balance in your life. Over time, I have discovered several practices that help me recharge, stay grounded, and feel my best.
Here are 14 self-care rituals that I swear by to help me reconnect with myself and boost my overall well-being:
1. Meditation
Starting my mornings with meditation is my way of setting the tone for the day. I love using quick 5-minute guided meditations on YouTube which help me feel grounded and centered before diving into the day.

2. Chanting
Chanting sacred sounds like “Hu,” “Om,” or “Ah” feels like an energetic cleanse for my soul. These vibrations calm my mind and align my energy, leaving me feeling balanced and at peace.
3. Walking Outdoors
I love morning walks. Whether it’s a stroll through my neighborhood or a hike at places like Runyon Canyon or Franklin Canyon Park, walking outdoors is my way of resetting and recharging my mind and body.
4. Painting and Creativity
Tapping into my creative side through painting mandalas or crafting is so fulfilling. It’s not about perfection—it is about letting your imagination flow and creating something unique.
5. Reading
In the book Limitless, Jim Kwik recommends reading 20-30 minutes a day can improve your knowledge and skills. He emphasizes that even small daily investments in reading can compound over time and can foster personal growth.
6. Movement and Working Out
Staying active is essential for my mental and physical health. Whether it is walking, pilates, at-home workouts, or going to the gym, moving my body helps me release stress and feel empowered.
7. Eating Healthy
I amm a total foodie who loves indulging in favorites like In-N-Out, but I also know the power of eating clean. Three days a week, I eat plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free meals. It is a challenge but these days leave me feeling lighter, more energized, and completely in tune with my body.
8. Gratitude Practice
Each day, I take a moment to reflect on the things I’m grateful for. It’s a simple act, but it shifts my focus to positivity and reminds me of the abundance in my life.
9. Journaling
Journaling is my safe space to let my thoughts flow freely. Whether I am reflecting on my day, setting goals, or simply writing for the joy of it, journaling helps me feel connected to myself.
10. Baths
A relaxing bath with Epsom salts and lavender oil is my favorite way to unwind. It is my version of a spa day at home—a time to let go of stress and indulge in a little luxury.
11. Digital Detox
Sometimes, the best way to recharge is to disconnect. Some days, I skip Instagram until nighttime or take a full 24-hour break from social media. I even took a month off – which was pretty insane. These digital detox days help me feel more present and mindful in my everyday life.
12. Watch Comforting Movies
Whenever I am feeling down or stressed, I turn to my favorite childhood movies. There’s something so soothing about revisiting those familiar stories—they feel like a comforting hug for my heart.
13. Sound Baths
Sound baths are an incredibly relaxing way for me to reset my energy. Listening to soothing sounds from instruments like Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and chimes, these sound healing sessions calm my mind, release tension, and help me feel completely rejuvenated. If you are in LA and looking for a good sound bath I recommend checking out Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens.
14. Try Something New
I recently started learning how to cook, and while it’s been challenging, it has also been incredibly fun. I truly believe that trying new things is so important—it pushes us out of our comfort zone, challenges us, and helps us stay focused. Whether it’s cooking, learning a new hobby, or trying something outside the norm, these experiences keep life exciting and fulfilling.
