4th Annual Back 2 School Event at Crenshaw High School
Last year, we proudly hosted our 4th Annual Back 2 School Festival at Crenshaw High School, marking our largest and most impactful event to date. With a full takeover of the campus, we transformed it into a vibrant, free community celebration filled with resources, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
Event Highlights
- 5,000 Fully Loaded Backpacks: Each backpack was filled with school supplies to set students up for success.
- Yoga: The morning started out with free yoga hosted by Black Om.
- LA Clippers: From exciting alumni basketball games to meet-and-greets, the Clippers brought energy and engagement to the day.
- Alumni Basketball games: Crenshaw Alumni basketball games were hosted throughout the day.
- Book Distribution by Malik Books: Families received free books to encourage reading and literacy at home.
- Food Trucks: A variety of options from local food vendors
- Health Resources: Free health screenings and resources empowered families to prioritize their well-being.
- Live Entertainment: Local artists and performers lit up the stage, keeping spirits high throughout the day.
- Local Vendors: Community businesses showcased their goods, fostering local economic support.
We ended the day with an unforgettable free concert hosted by Duckwrth and his talented friends. The energy was amazing! Being part of such an incredible event filled with joy, connection, and community support was truly humbling.
