The Edition Tokyo Hotel Review

Spending three nights over New Year’s at The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon with my fiance Ryan was the perfect way to start 2023! As a big fan of The EDITION hotels in Los Angeles and Miami, I was thrilled to experience Tokyo’s take on their signature minimalist, modern design. The Tokyo EDITION is sleek and sophisticated yet feels deeply connected to the city’s aesthetic. With lush greenery in the lobby lounge, soaring ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing Tokyo’s skyline, the hotel creates an effortlessly chic space that brings the city’s energy and EDITION’s calm, luxe vibe together beautifully.

The Room

We booked the Premier Tower View room which offered views of Tokyo Tower. The room itself was spacious (a win for Tokyo), with minimalist but luxe details, comfy linen bedding, and a bathroom stocked with Le Labo amenities. Floor-to-ceiling windows brought the city right in, making it feel both peaceful and part of the action.

Dining

For New Year’s Eve, we enjoyed an unforgettable dinner at the Blue Room, where each dish was beautifully crafted and delicious—a perfect way to celebrate. Later, we headed to the lobby bar for cocktails, ringing in the New Year with stunning views of Tokyo. In the mornings, we ordered in-room dining which was perfection!

One thing I missed, but highly recommend, is the afternoon tea—one of my favorite hotel traditions. If you’re staying at The EDITION, definitely make time to experience it!

The Location

Toranomon is a quieter neighborhood in Tokyo and an ideal base right in the city’s heart. Whether you’re exploring Ginza’s shopping, Roppongi’s nightlife, or nearby hidden gems, everything is a taxi cab away.

Final Thoughts

Starting the year at The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon felt like an escape and a celebration rolled into one. Between the views, the ambiance, and the thoughtful details, it was the perfect NYE experience. If you’re looking for a spot that combines Tokyo’s fast-paced energy with the calm of a luxe retreat, this hotel nails it.
