In 2021, It’s Bigger Than Us partnered with The Los Angeles Dream Center to establish a weekly food distribution program every Friday morning. The program distributes 1,500 pounds of fresh food, produce, and essential resources.

Additionally, on the second Friday of every month, we organize Community Friday events in collaboration with various organizations to provide the community with resources, health screenings, and fresh groceries.

Originally, the Friday food distribution program started outside Tyrone’s mom’s thrift shop at 6909 S. Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90047. However, as of March 3rd, the program has moved to our new headquarters in Leimert Park – located at 4308 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA.

It’s Bigger Than Us is also excited to announce Target as a partner. Here are some of my favorite photos from our last Community Friday.

Volunteer roles available:

• Set up: Tables, chairs, food, and resources 
• Hang distribution banners and hold signs up 
• Line monitors: Welcome, greet community residents and share services community residents up for services  
• Handout resources: Handout resources such as food, diapers, and health resources to residents  
• Breakdown: Tables, chairs, food, and resources
