Pan Am Dining Experience

ALL ABOUT PAN AM

If you have a love for the 60’s/early 70’s and first class travel then you must check out the Pan Am dinner experience! Located in an old movie sound stage in Pacoima, Los Angeles, the Pan Am transports “passengers” back in time when flying was considered a luxury since it was not as readily available as it is today. For those that have never heard of Pan Am, the American airline was founded in 1927 and quickly became one of the most iconic airlines in history. Still to this day it is remembered for its glamorous cabins, flight attendants and of course the passengers.

The founders of the Pan Am Experience, Anthony Toth and Talaat Captan, created an exact replica of the airline’s famous Boeing 747, furnished with memorabilia from the actual Pan Am airlines. From the moment you “check in” and receive your ticket wallet with a luggage tag and boarding pass to the delicious meal and drinks served on the original China tableware, Anthony and Talaat did not leave out any details to create a truly authentic experience. Even the wait staff is dressed in vintage Pan Am uniforms and performs a fashion show during your “flight.”

“One of the best parts about this job is seeing grown men or elderly people, who used to work for Pan Am, come on the plane and they’re crying because Pan Am was their second home back in the day,” she says. “And when they come on the plane and see it looks exactly like how it used to it brings back all these old memories for them and they’ll just sob their eyes out. There’s this one gentleman that sticks out in my head. He was a pilot for Pan Am and he was maybe in his 80s and I just remember him just bawling his eyes out when he stepped on the plane.”

Please note that this experience is on the pricier side so this is great for special occasions. I bought these tickets for my best friend Brandons birthday present.

Also, I highly recommend dressing up! I went thrift store shopping on Melrose and found this cool turquoise flight attendant looking outfit and mixed it with other items I already owned.

Here are a bunch of photos from our flight. I also attached Insiders Youtube video the Pan Am below! Enjoy!
